Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish I Could Read for the First Time Again

Hi and welcome to the reading world!

Today’s post is another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s theme is books we wish we could read again for the first time! Some of these are books I read ages ago and want to reread to see how my opinion of them has changed with time, some are so I could re-experience the plot twist and so on. Let me know your picks in the comments!

The Bride Test (The Kiss Quotient, #2)

The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

This second book in the Kiss Quotient series is my favorite of the 2 installments I’ve read so far. I loved the character development and the slow burn romance.

Mistborn: The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1)

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

This is definitely a staple in modern fantasy and one I wish I could re-experience (and maybe will reread sometime soon!)

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

I honestly read this one years ago and haven’t reread it since! I want to reread it now but I also want to see how my thoughts and reactions to it have changed over the years.

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This is one where I think reading it in school made the symbolism and meanings more highly analyzed and I’m curious to see how the reading experience and analysis could have changed over the years.

The Empire of Gold (The Daevabad Trilogy, #3)

The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty

A favorite series finale, the Daevabad trilogy is an all time favorite and this installment was an incredible ending.

Patsy

Patsy by Nicole Dennis-Benn

I especially loved the audiobook of this and would love to re-experience the journey of these characters!

Passing

Passing by Nella Larsen

This was a somewhat recent read but one I still think back on and am amazed by how much was packed into such a concise story length!

Kiki's Delivery Service

Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono

One of my most recent completed reads, I would love to reread this heartwarming tale.

The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth, #1)

The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

I’m still in the process of finishing this trilogy alongside some b2weirdos but this story is absolutely incredible and memorable.

Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations

Good Talk by Mira Jacob

My first experience with memoir in graphic novel format, but definitely not my last!

There is my list for this week’s TTT! What are your picks?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I read The Great Gatsby in school and strongly disliked it. My teacher said I probably didn’t understand it, and I’m sure she was right. However, because of that, I’ve always thought of it as pretty terrible…you’ve made me curious now about what I’d think if I read it today. I might have to consider doing that.
