Wrap Up: July 2021

Hi and welcome to the reading world!

Typically for monthly wrap ups, I like to share a mini recap of every book I read on my Bookstagram at the end of each month. For this month, I’m going to be sharing an abbreviated wrap up format of my favorite reads and blog posts from Rae’s Reading World here! If you enjoy the more deep dive including reading challenges I normally do in wrap ups like June those will be back in the future! For now, let’s talk some of my favorite reads and posts this month!

What’s on the Shelves:

Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon was my first book by this author but definitely won’t be my last. I loved the genre defying gothic SFF horror novel that took me by surprise every chapter. This one is definitely full of plot twists but also interesting and compelling characters, and I’m definitely curious to read more of the author’s work. Which of their books should I pick up next? Feel free to leave a comment with your suggestion!

What’s on the Blog:

I reviewed three books this month on the blog: Under the Rainbow, Beast, and The Fifth Season.

This month featured some of my favorite posts on the blog yet, mostly because I talked about so many favorites! I introduced my Mid Year Favorites series to highlight my favorite reads so far of 2021 in Contemporary and Literary Fiction, Sci Fi and Fantasy, and Mystery and Thriller, which are definitely the genres I need to read more of. I also got to share my My 5 Star and Favorite Reads Part 2 of 2021!

So, there’s a brief recap for July! I’ll be back with more challenge updates in future wrap ups!

Thanks for stopping by!

-Rae
