Hi and welcome to the reading world!
It’s a little early for me to be sharing my March most anticipated new releases, but I want to highlight some read-a-thon wrap ups later on in the month and so I’ve decided to talk about the upcoming March books now! (P. S. if you haven’t joined Blackathon 2021 or Sapphic Readathon, feel free to check out the links to the hosts of these ongoing events!)
Now, per usual with sharing these, a few quick disclaimers. I keep this list to 10 of the (many!) exciting new releases for a month because if I shared every single book I’m excited about, we’d be here awhile.
Also, this list isn’t meant to say anyone has to buy every single new release! While I enjoy pre-ordering a few books when I can to help support authors, I also utilize my local library frequently (oftentimes picking up new releases and backlist titles!) and get used books. If these new releases are something you’re interested in, definitely check out your local library/Libby- if they aren’t available already when the book comes out, you can place a hold, request your library purchase a copy, or check into Inter-Library Loan options.
If I’ve gotten any details like release date or genre breakdown incorrect please feel free to leave a comment with more updated information, I’m going off of the Goodreads pages as I write this. Without further ado, here are 10 books coming out in March 2021 I’m excited for!
March 2

Adult Thriller, Standalone
This one kind of reminds me of The Wife Upstairs so I’m definitely curious to check it out!

Adult Historical Fantasy, #1 in the Murder and Magic series
This one sounds like such an interesting story, and its sequel The Undertakers is already announced for this November!

Adult Thriller/Mystery, Standalone
The premise of this one sounds like a psychological thriller/mystery which I’m very interested in reading more of in this book set in contemporary Nigeria!

Adult Sci Fi/Literary Fiction, Standalone
I’m excited to read more of Kazuo Ishiguro’s work this year after picking up When We Were Orphans recently- early reviews of this book I’ve seen have also been super positive!

Adult Contemporary/Literary Fiction, Standalone
This is one I’ve heard some good buzz on from some Bookstagram friends, so I’m excited to read it!
March 23

Adult Thriller, Standalone
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Peter Swanson’s thrillers, so I’m interested in reading his newest release!

Adult Fantasy, #1 in the Magic of the Lost series
So excited to read this one- from what I’ve heard it’s a new fantasy series with political subplots and a sapphic romance!
March 30

Adult Historical Fiction, Standalone
I don’t read a lot of historical fiction, but this one sounds so interesting I’m excited to pick it up!

Adult Historical/Contemporary Fiction, Standalone
Ironic considering I just said how I don’t read historical fiction often, but this book combines a historical and modern storyline in a way I’m super curious to read!

Non-Fiction Poetry
I heard Amanda Gorman’s reading of this poem during the 2021 Inauguration and it was incredibly moving. I am so excited to read this poem in this special edition.
So there are 10 new releases in the next month I’m excited to read! What are some of your most anticipated new releases?
Thanks for stopping by!
