Top Ten Tuesday: My Winter TBR

Hi everyone! Welcome to Rae’s Reading World. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is themed around books on my winter TBR.

Personally, I don’t set monthly TBRs and I try to be very flexible with what I read (I’m definitely a mood reader) but for the winter time I do have some picks that I’ve been planning on reading/prioritized reading for this season!

Feel free to keep an eye on my Goodreads or my Instagram to see when I end up reading these, and if there’s any you’d specifically like to see reviewed or are on your TBR too let me know! Here are the books!

  1. In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
50892287. sy475

I’ve heard of this one described as Christmas meets the movie Groundhog Day. Christina Lauren is a romance author I’ve read a few books of (The Unhoneymooners is one of my favorites) and so her holiday novel was definitely one I wanted to add to my winter TBR. This will be reviewed on the blog closer to the holiday!

  1. The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
36337550

This book reminds me of Clue with a supernatural twist. I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about it as a murder mystery.

  1. The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
50706646

This is a new fantasy series that I’ve heard incredible things about. I’ve been getting into reading more fantasy and sci-fi, so I’m excited to pick this one up.

4. The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty

32718027

In the recurring theme of “fantasy series Rae is late on the bandwagon for and have already wrapped up”, The City of Brass is an epic adventure set in 18th century Cairo following a witty and gifted con artist.

5. The Simple Wild by K. A. Tucker

36373564. sy475

This is a romance that I’ve heard has excellent witty banter and enemies to lovers with the two leads. It also takes place in wintertime Alaska (I think), so I’m excited to read this one during the winter months.

6. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

32620332. sy475

I picked this one up in November and knew I wasn’t in the right mood for it, so I’m saving it to read this winter. I’ve heard great things!

7. If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio

30319086. sy475

Dark academia has been a huge trend this past fall and presently in the book internet realm. This book falls within that genre and I’ve heard particularly good things about it, so I’m curious to try out both the genre and this specific novel

8. The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

40603587. sx318

I’ve seen some of The Witcher on Netflix, and I’m excited to read the book series behind it!

9. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

7126

I read this back in school and I’ve been wanting to read it again and see what more I get from it. It’s definitely a longer read but I’m curious to read it now.

10. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

6185. sy475

I actually have never read this one, which is definitely a surprise for a lot of people. So, I’m curious to actually read it and form my own thoughts on the novel. A lot of people love this book, and a lot of people hate the characters in it, so I’m curious to know where I’ll stand.

There are (some) of the books I’m thinking about reading this winter. Are any of these on your TBR? If you’ve read them, what were your thoughts?

Thank you so much for stopping by!

-Rae

    1. That’s awesome that you enjoyed If We Were Villains! I ended up reading City of Brass very recently, so the next two books in the trilogy are on my TBR. Thank you for stopping by!

    1. It’s definitely a cute holiday read! Picked it up earlier this month, will be reviewing closer to Christmas. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. It definitely seemed like a great read, I just knew I wasn’t in the mood for a historical fiction type book at that moment. Definitely planning on picking it back up soon though, glad you enjoyed. Thanks for stopping by!
